I proudly belong to the Blue Ridge Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Kennel Club, the Central Carolina Cavalier King Charles kennel club, the CKCSC club, the ACKCSC club, the GMKC and PKC all breed kennel clubs, Charlotte dog training club and the Dog scout of America club.
The British Kennel Club recognized Cavalier King Charles Spaniels as a separate breed in 1945. In the United States, however, this was not the case. The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club was started in response to a Cavalier owner’s inability to register her dog in the states. The American Kennel Club officially recognized the breed in 1996.
