pls help . I have a golf 4 1.9 tdi year 1999 automatic and have a problem with gearbox . It goes into 1st and 2nd gear fine, but for 3rd, 4th gears sometimes doesn’t change and when change the car shakes. I’ve changed the oil transmission and also the filter but no change. Golf 5 Gear lever stiff, not springing back to centre resting point. I have a Golf Mk5 TDI S estate (aka Variant) with 5 speed gearbox, 110,000 on the clock. No problems until recently, when gearbox became stiff and very difficult to change gears. Selecting 1st is a problem, the lever does not want to find the slot, 1st to 2nd is ok, it's just

It is considerably less refined than the 2.0 CR and the power/torque figures are obviously lower. I would describe the power is 'adequate' rather than peppy. Thus far no DPF problems have emerged.
