For distance travel you have to prepare for extremes of heat, cold, and rain. If you know temps will be 60-80F and dry you don't need to prepare much. For comfort, you will get sore unless you are used to 350 mile rides. Stretch before, during and after. Walk around and stretch at gas stops.
